Steve’s history with Agape dates back to the late 1980’s when his parents became foster parents for Agape. After working for the Department of Human Resources (DHR) for three years, Steve went to graduate school with the plan to return to DHR. God had other plans. The chance to return to DHR was thwarted by a hiring freeze and a door opened for Steve to join Agape’s ministry. After seven years serving Agape as a part of several multi-agency collaborations, Steve moved to work in a leadership position at a child welfare agency in Tennessee. In 2016 Steve rejoined Agape and was named Executive Director in 2019. He is passionate about Agape’s ministry to vulnerable children and is excited to help others find ways to be a part of the ministry. Steve has a bachelor’s degree from Auburn University and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Alabama. Steve and his wife, Shannon, have two adult children, Grace & James.
