Riley Cowell is a dedicated Licensed Master Social Worker-Supervisor, who began serving at Agape in 2020. She earned a bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies at Auburn University. After thoughtful consideration, Riley pursued her passion for social work, obtaining a master’s degree from Samford University. She believes social work is a beautiful example of the Gospel and “loving your neighbor as yourself” (Mark 12:31). With a heart for family preservation, Riley has worked tirelessly to support families and children, both locally and abroad.
At Agape, Riley has faithfully served in the Maternity Services program by walking alongside women facing unplanned pregnancies, providing invaluable support as these women navigate their journey toward parenthood or adoption. Now serving as the Director of our Maternity Program, Riley leads with compassion and dedication, ensuring our staff are equipped to provide exceptional care to expectant mothers in our community.
Additionally, Riley offers therapy to individuals, couples, and families, specializing in attachment and trauma. Riley is a Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Practitioner which was developed by Dr. Karyn Purvis and Dr. David Cross at the TCU Institute of Child Development, and she utilizes Emotionally Focused Therapy developed by Dr. Sue Johnson to enhance relationships, sense of self, improve emotional bonds, and improve overall wellbeing. Riley brings a holistic approach to her work, empowering clients to heal and thrive in their relationships and within their families.
