Maternity Advocate (Social Worker) – Montgomery Service Area

Agape of Central Alabama is seeking a licensed social worker (LBSW, LMSW, or LICSW) to join our team to minister to expectant mothers who are in crisis. Individuals with a social work degree who have not obtained their social work license would be required to obtain their license within 6 months of employment.

This position provides non-directive counseling to expectant parents to help them make the best plan for their child. The position provides support to the expectant parent as she carries out her adoption plan or parenting plan and provides support after the birth of the child as well.  This position will also be trained to provide therapeutic group counseling.

This position also engages in outreach to community organizations, partner agencies and other ministries to make them aware of the services of Agape.

The ideal candidate will have experience in community based or in-home social work and crisis intervention. Be familiar with community resources, have strong verbal and written communication skills, and be able to establish and maintain appropriate boundaries.  This position has on call responsibilities and requires a flexible schedule.  The candidate needs to be proficient in multitasking and prioritizing needs and skilled in working with a diverse population.

This position will provide services primarily in the Montgomery service area with occasional responsibilities in other areas.

Montgomery Office

Position Type: Part-Time, Hourly

We are seeking a passionate, faith-driven professional to join our team and help us engage local Christians and churches in Agape’s mission.

Position Overview

Do you have a heart for ministry and a gift for organization? As the Mission Advancement Partner, you will play a pivotal role in amplifying Agape’s voice. You will connect our mission to the community through written, visual, and digital communications, coordinate meaningful volunteer opportunities, and help plan events and fundraisers that directly support our programs.

This position will play a key role in agency communications, events and fundraising activities, and volunteer coordination.

Job Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in communication, public relations, business, theology, social work, or a related field.

Skills:  Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational abilities with a knack for managing multiple ongoing projects efficiently. A self-motivated “team player” attitude with a high standard for excellence and professionalism. Experience with WordPress, Canva, Google Workplace and Microsoft Office is needed.

Experience: Prior experience working in a communication, ministry, or public relations setting is highly preferred.
