More Moms Served Than Ever

These are the voices of some of Agape’s staff. Agape’s maternity program continues to serve more pregnant women in crisis than ever before. The fiscal year the US Supreme Court Dobbs decision came down that changed abortion to an issue decided by the states, Agape served 36 pregnant women. The next fiscal year, we served 65. As of the first nine months of this fiscal year, we have already served 67, which puts us on pace to serve close to 90 expectant mothers this fiscal year!

I want you to hear from our maternity staff about the impact you are having on the lives of expectant mothers. Riley, Aminta, and Grace share about walking alongside expectant mothers as she makes the best plan for her child.

Aminta on the first phone call with a mother in crisis:

“They feel panicked, they feel fear, there is a lot of doubt, there is elevated stress, so they don’t know what to do.”

Riley says the first call often involves a mother saying,

“I didn’t expect to be here. I don’t know what I am going to do…Everyone said ‘Call Agape, they can help’.

In the first meeting with a pregnant woman, Agape staff assess needs and set goals to work on. Our staff then meet regularly with the mother to work on her goals and to talk about the plan for her unborn child.

Grace tells us that being a maternity social worker means,

“We get to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Practically helping but also providing hope.

Riley, Aminta, and Grace share stories of your impact on this video. I encourage you to take a few minutes to hear how you were a part of providing safety for a woman fleeing domestic violence, providing comfort for a young lady making an adoption plan, and providing a future for a mom who chose to parent her child.
