There are several ways that volunteers can give their time and energy to help the children we serve.
-Christmas Wish Lists
In order to make sure that each child’s Wish List is appropriate for his/her age, the social worker and foster parent work closely with the child to ensure each item is beneficial for the child’s growth, edification and enjoyment. Gifts range from Tinkle Bell pajamas and Christian baby books to swimming lessons and art supplies.
The Agape Auxiliary then helps locate volunteers to purchase the items on the Wish Lists. The items are returned to the social worker in the area, then sent to the foster parent to wrap for Christmas morning. -Office/Project Assistance
There are several small projects in our office that require several hands. If you would be interested in helping with some clerical duties, please let us know. Although sometimes tedious, this work is neccessary for us to continue our mission.
-Pecans
The funds that are earned from the Pecan Sale are a wonderful asset for Agape families. Agape’s Auxiliary has worked diligently over the years to provide for the foster children in Agape’s care. Each cent of profit that the Auxiliary obtains is directed to meeting the needs of the boys and girls in foster homes. Some recent purchases by the foster parents include CPR training for the foster parents, clothes for children who come into care with no clothes that fit them, and school supplies.
